Provider Referrals
Elevate Oral Health partners with dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and other health care providers to support coordinated myofunctional care for children and adults across Massachusetts.
When to Consider a Referral
A myofunctional evaluation may be appropriate when a patient has concerns involving breathing patterns, tongue posture, swallowing, oral habits, or facial and jaw muscle function.
Persistent mouth breathing or open-mouth rest posture
Tongue thrust or atypical swallowing patterns
Low or forward tongue resting posture
Preparation for or recovery after a tongue-tie or frenectomy procedure
Jaw tension, clenching, or oral muscle compensation as part of a broader care plan
Oral habits that may be affecting healthy oral function
Collaborative Care
Myofunctional therapy is designed to complement, not replace, dental orthodontic, ENT, speech, physical therapy, or medical care. When appropriate and patient consent, we coordinate with the referring provider so treatment goals, progress, and next steps stay aligned.
